Periodontal Gum Disease Treatment and Other Periodontal Services

LANAP Laser Treatment

A periodontal treatment for moderate to advanced cases of periodontal gum disease. A more recent development in periodontal treatment is the use of a minimally invasive laser - the Laser Assisted New Attachment Procedure (LANAP™), a patented protocol that is the only FDA cleared protocol for gum disease. For cases with advanced gum disease where bone loss and severe bleeding is evident, this laser therapy is a less invasive, more patient-friendly approach that is done without a scalpel and sutures. This treatment can effectively remove infection while simultaneously stimulating bone regeneration.

Gum Grafting

When recession of the gingiva occurs, the tooth loses its natural defense against both bacterial penetration and trauma. When gum recession is a problem, gum reconstruction using grafting techniques is an option to reconstruct the gum integrity thickness, and cover the exposed roots.

Scaling and Root Planing

Also known as a deep cleaning. Bleeding gums can progress to loss of bone, leading to gum recession and loosening of the teeth. A scaling and root planing is done when the beginning signs of bone loss are evident, where a simple dental cleaning will not address the condition.
